  • 6 slices toast bread
  • butter
  • 100g grated cheese
  • 1 Tbsp tomato puree or sauce
  • sliced salami
  • 4 mushrooms
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 onion cut into rings
  • 1 green pepper cut into rings
  • stuffed olives or anchovy fillets (opt)


Butter the bread, then place in a greased pie or pizza dish to form the base. Sprinkle half the grated cheese over the bread then dot with tomato puree or sauce. Top with slices salami, then vegetables, garnish with olives or anchovy fillets. Sprinkle on remaining cheese. Bake at 200 C for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden. Serves 4.
