I have several recipes that call for onion soup mix. Being able to make it myself is a huge plus when I cant always find it in our local stores. I wasnt aware it had beef bouillon in it, or is it just in this recipe to achieve the correct flavour?

This is great! I love using onion soup mix. It's a secret ingredient in a lot of my recipes. I love having the knowledge to make my own! I go through so much of it, that it would be much more cost efficient to just make my own. This recipe is so easy to make. Just mix together a few ingredients, store, and it's ready to use! I love that it tells me exactly how much to substitute for a packet! Thank you so much for posting this!

I make this french onion dip that uses onion soup mix so this is a great find. And the ingredients are easy to find. Anytime I can make my own mix, I will. I know what is in it and it is usually more economical. My grandma used to put Lipton Onion Soup mix in her meatloaf. It was good meatloaf.
