I had another thought. Instead of adding in the caramel vodka, rum, or conventional alcohol I am going to add my own twist. In South Africa we have an ethnic fruit, marula, and a delicious creamy liquor, Amarula, is made from it. It is also cheap as the fruit is in abundance here. I will let you know how it turns out!

We can't buy egg nog in the stores here in South Africa but, having experienced a 'white' Christmas in Europe and drunk eggnog, I went searching for a recipe. I am going to make this one as it only takes 10 minutes and can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days which means I can make this beforehand and cut out a chore on Christmas day. Also it is served cold and it is HOT here in South Africa on Christmas day, being the height of summer. Can't wait to try this!
