With beef stroganoff, the beefy flavor from searing the beef usually allows for using less seasoning (I would think)...but chicken would probably need a little more attention like salt and maybe some white pepper. Sauteeing the mushrooms in the garlic would really elevate this dish and I just love sour cream mixed with cream of mushroom soup...the combination makes the most delicious creamy sauce for a dish like this. Tuna or shrimp would be yummy too!

Chicken Stroganoff Church Supper, now why didin't I think of that. Not the Church Supper part, the Chicken Stroganoff part. I love Beef Stroganoff and this recipe delivers everything I love about it in Chicken form. Love the simplicity of the flavors and the easy preparation. Definitely a win...win recipe. I made this with a combination of breast and boneless skinless thighs. Great!

I think I am going to make this for supper tomorrow night. We are getting tired of chicken and rice and chicken and potatoes. The egg noodles will be a nice change from the usual. I wonder which is better to use the sour cream or the yogurt. What would the taste difference be like?

This is a great twist to beef stroganoff. I think I will try this recipe. Everyone is sure to love this, since we all love beef stroganoff. I may add just a little garlic, just because we love it. I will also probably make with cream of mushroom soup instead of the cream of chicken. Nobody in my house will eat fresh mushrooms in anything, so the cream of mushroom soup will give it that taste without everyone turning away from the dish, because of the fresh mushrooms. I think I will try this tonight!

This was very tasty easy. I sprinkled in a tiny bit of garlic powder, used Baby Bella mushrooms, and whole grain noodles. I'll definitely make this again.

Chicken Stroganoff is such a delectable meal and seeing this recipe I realised we have not had it in years and years. I do not like canned soup as a sauce so we used some home made chicken stock and also increased the quantity of sour cream a bit. The result was a deliciously creamy stroganoff on a bed of fettucine. Absolutely heavenly!

I am looking for something to make for supper tonight. This looks like a great recipe for me to make. I don't have any tinned soup but I am going to make a plan with the powdered soup that I have. I will have to see how that turns out. I will make the soup much thicker or add milk to it or something like that.

This is really good. I make something similar to this using a can of mushroom soup instead of the sour cream. This makes it more like stroganoff which is a hit in my house. When I buy mushrooms at the store they come in 8 oz. containers so I just used the whole amount. It worked out well. Nice change from Beef Stroganoff.

In case you didn't notice, but the recipe 'already' calls for a can of mushroom soup.

Today I'm making the Amish Cinnamon Bread so wish me luck

Basic recipe sounds ok but where are the seasonings?
