Cuban Picadillo


  • 2 pounds lean ground meat browned and drained of grease
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cup thinly sliced onions
  • 1 chopped garlic clove
  • 1 1/2 cup sliced yellow and red bell pepper
  • 1 cup chopped carrot
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 14 1/2 ounces can of no salt added stewed tomatoes
  • 8 ounces can of no salt added tomato sauce
  • 2 bay leaves


Saute onions and garlic in oil til soft medium heat, add carrots and peppers. Add beef and other ingredients. Simmer until all flavors have blended.
