Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

This unique brownie recipe is topped off with a deliciously rich swirl of peanut butter and cream cheese. Fans of chocolate peanut butter cups will love these simple brownies.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs, divided
  • 1 package (1 lb. 6.5 oz.) brownie mix with chocolate syrup pouch
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 2-quart square casserole with nonstick cooking spray.
     
  2. In a small bowl, with electric mixer, combine cream cheese, sugar and 1 egg until smooth; set aside.
     
  3. In a medium bowl, combine brownie mix, contents of chocolate syrup pouch, remaining 3 eggs, water and oil until well blended. Reserve 2 tablespoons. brownie batter.
     
  4. Pour remaining batter into casserole and microwave on High 5-6 min. until top is still wet in center but sides are set. Spread peanut butter mixture evenly over hot brownie (mixture will begin to melt).
     
  5. With a fork, carefully swirl reserved 2 tablespoons reserved brownie batter into peanut butter mixture, being careful not to disturb set brownie underneath.
     
  6. Bake in preheated oven 15-20 minutes or until top is set and just browned at edges. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.

what peanut butter mixture???

interesting recipe! have never put brownie mixture in the microwave before but they sound good. while I'm in the mood for chocolate these Will be in the oven soon!

You forgot the peanut butter. Guess it goes in with the cream cheese.
