This sounds and looks amazing. Can't wait to give it a go.

I love these slice-and-stuff types of breads. They're open to all sorts of experiments and variations. I like this version a lot. I tried it with a sourdough rye I got from our local Kroger and it worked very well. It's a great item to serve with some beer and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. I might try adding some ham the next time I make this, plus adding a bit of swiss cheese to the cheddar in the recipe.

This is such a great dish to make for a party or holiday because your guests will think you did so much work when really you just used some kinda stale bread to make a quick and easy appetizer! My personal preference would be to make some real bacon and crumble it for the bread but the bacon bits work just fine, too.

How have I missed out on a collection of recipes with ranch dressing? This Cheesy bacon and ranch bread looks and sounds good! I think I'll add it to my appetizers for Christmas Eve list. It seems really easy and addicting, of course. Great idea by reviewer below to make a smaller version for less servings!

use a hard roll to make a serving for 1 or 2 people w/supper and cut other ingred.
