Don't you just love bread machine recipes? They're so easy - just put in the ingredients, press a button, and walk away. This one is fantastic because the result tastes just like homemade apple pie. Yummy!

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 5 tablespoons white sugar
  • 3 1/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons bread flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons powdered buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup apple pie filling
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon apple juice


Place all ingredients into the pan of the bread machine in the order suggested by the manufacturer. Press Start.

I love bread machine bread and apple pie, so I am sure this is amazing. I don't know about powdered buttermilk, so I will substitute. I bet this smells wonderful when it's baking.

@aliceknitshotmailcom I would try it but try decrease the apple juice by 3 tablespoons full good luck let us know how it worked out

It should not matter if you add it with wet ingredients

what can i use instead of buttermilk power? i live in ireland and have fresh buttermilk is this the same?

Just saw your post - this may help for the future: Substitute for buttermilk powder Substitute 1 cup fresh buttermilk for 1/4 cup powder + 1 cup water. Or use 1 cup sour cream or for baking use 1 cup milk + 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar. Read more from
