I remember Sunday dinners after church where everyone carried in a dish and we all had a meal together. What else would go good in this recipe besides bananas? My daughter is allergic, but I really want to make something like this for the kids to try. Since it is getting warmer, this would make a great recipe to fix. I can see packing it in lunches or using it as a special treat on hot summer days after a long day at the beach too.

I love creamy fruit salads like this recipe. I've never had this orange one, but I love Ambrosia Salad and Watergate Salad. I like to make these recipes as sides around the holidays, and then again for family birthdays in the Spring. I'm glad I found this recipe in time to make it for April birthdays!

When I saw this picture, all I could think was Yummy! I love these types of salads. I am tempted to make this today. This would be a great light dessert for a warmer spring day. The only question I have is, has anyone ever tried this with homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip? I am not a huge fan of Cool Whip. I can eat if I have to, but I would much rather have some fresh whipped cream. Does the texture stay the same? Thank you for any help!

My aunt used to make this salad for me at family functions when I was little. She always called it "Ambrosia Salad." Oh boy is it good! It's more of a dessert flavour, but we would eat it like a side dish on holidays. It's kind of sweet and tangy at the same time. One modification that she would make is adding in some mini marshmallows. This is kind of a retro recipe, but I really enjoy it. It's a family favourite in my household.

I know these salads are very popular and loved by many, but the texture doesn't really appeal to me. I'd rather have a kind of 'creamsicle-like' treat. Does anyone have any ideas on how to utilize most of these ingredients but not have the same texture as this recipe? Please help !!

Oh Yum, everyone in our family loves this Orange Cream Fruit Salad! This recipe adds a new twist I have never thought of, adding banana!! Oh my, what a great treat, I also roast some almonds in a cast iron skillet and cut into slivers and put on top. So good!! Thank you so much for this free recipe that is a family fav. of all ages..
