Rich saffron shrimp sauce with pasta. Creamy shrimp sauce with subtle hints of honey achieved with a pinch of saffron. A 10-minute, 8-ingredient dish that tastes like a million bucks. If in doubt when making this saffron shrimp sauce, get yourself more shrimp. You can never have too much as far as I’m concerned. The sauce is simple and seriously good tasting. If you want to impress someone with your kitchen skills, this is the sauce to go with. The shrimp gives it a lightness that can only come from seafood. Meanwhile, the saffron gives it a splash of new, almost honeydewish taste. The splash of lemon juice, added at the very end, intensifies and seals the taste in.

What a great looking pasta dish. I like the way that it is so quick to put together. I love shrimp and I eat a lot of pasta. This recipe is so simple. The lemon juice at the end is definitely going to make all of the difference. I think what really makes this is the saffron.

I like to use the large shrimp in recipes like this, so I allowed for a couple of extra minutes of cooking time. Still comes together in a flash. You could use half and half instead of the heavy cream if you want, but I don't feel the need since the shrimp itself has almost no fat in it at all. Make sure to use fresh saffron for this special meal, and not something that has been in the spice rack for a long time, as it really makes a big difference in the flavor!
