German Style Red Cabbage

  • 1 small head red cabbage
  • 2 red apples, cored but not peeled
  • 2 Tbs. oil
  • 1/2 tsp.salt
  • 1/8 black pepper
  • 3/4 C. water
  • 3 tbs. cider vinegar
  • 1 tbs. flour


Makes 4 servings. Remove outer leaves of cabbage and discard. quarter, core, and shred cabbage into cooker. Slice unpeeled apples and add to cabbage. Add oil, salt and pepper. Pour in water. Cover and set control at 15 Cook 5 min after control jiggles. reduce pressure at once..Uncover and drain into heated serving dish. Mix vinegar, sugar and flour. Stir in liquid from cooker. return to heat and thicken. Add cabbage and reheat.

There's no amount for the sugar! I added about 1/4c though and it turned out fine! I also just left it in the cooker and didn't do the draining step..
