Key Lime Pie

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup lime juice
  • grated lime peel (optional)
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 3 ounces sour cream
  • 3 1/4 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 T sugar
  • 9" graham cracker crust (or 15-3" crusts)
  • egg whites

Instructions

Refrigerate all of the ingredients beforehand. If using grated limes peel, be sure to grate just the surface. Grating deeper will produce a bitter taste in the pie. Brush crust with egg whites. Bake in 300 deg. over for 10 min and cool. Combine and whip cream cheese, sour cream and sugar. Mix 3-5 minutes till fluffy. Add condensed mikeand whipping cream. Whip for additional 2-3 min. Add lime juice and optional grated lime rind. Pour into cooled pie shell and refrigerate overnight. Serve with optional whipped cream garnished with grated lime rind.
