  • Goes great with a salad.

  • Variation: For a "right-side-out Sandwich," use a tortilla in place of the pretzel.  Place the turkey slices on the torilla; spread with the cheese mixture and roll up.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons nonfat cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons pasteurized process cheese spread
  • 2 teaspoons chopped green onion tops
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 12 thin round slices fat-free turkey breast or smoked turkey breast
  • 4 large pretzel logs or unsalted bread sticks

Instructions

  1. Combine cream cheese, processed cheese spread, green onion and mustard in a small bowl; mix well.

  2. Arrange 3 turkey slices on a large sheet of plastic wrap, overlapping slices in center.

  3. Spread 1/4 of the cream cheese mixture evenly onto turkey slices, covering slices completely.

  4. Place 1 pretzel at bottom edge of turkey slices; roll up turkey around pretzel.  Be sure to keep all 3 turkey slices together as you roll them around pretzel.

  5. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

This Diabetic, Low Fat Inside Out Turkey Sandwiches are interesting to make. Although there is no diabetic patient in my family, well, we can always follow this recipe for prevention. They say that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure so yes, anyone who wants to pursue a low fat, low card diet can use this recipe. Cheers!

I am a diabetic and I am always looking for recipes that are easy to cook and flavorful. Unfortunately, when you remove the fat, most recipes add sugar to replace the flavor that is removed when removing the fat. I made this and use Mesquite turkey, and it was awesome.

low fat mayo, 1 slice of bread (or two) lettuce, tomato, pickles. That is low carb. Enjoy
