My 12 year old was home from school today with a cold and so finding this recipe was really timely! I didnt have a mango so I used only banana with the orange but he absolutely loved it and asked me for another one this afternoon. I tasted it too and it was really deeeelicious! Next time Ill use mango too which I am sure will amp up the flavor even more.

I agree that this sounds like a great breakfast or snack! I also wanted to add that although citrus is important in helping to keep the immune system working, zinc also plays a huge role in fighting colds! ZInc can be found in red meat, poultry, and seafood but also whole grains, fortified foods, nuts, and dairy products. So, perhaps, try adding in a splash of milk to incorporate some zinc into this great smoothie!

I just love Orange Julius and would love to try this recipe to make it t home! Smoothies are a great way to boost your fruit and veggie consumption, and the coconut water provides extra hydration. This recipe sounds so good and it will make a great breakfast drink or snack - no need to wait until you have a cold!
