Caramelized Figs with Balsamic Vinegar

"Caramelized Figs with Balsamic Vinegar are delicious for breakfast, dessert, or a snack. Enjoy them on toast, yogurt, ice cream, or on their own when you make this easy oil-free, vegan, and gluten-free recipe. Whenever I see fresh figs in the market, I just have to buy them. I’ve always liked dried figs, especially in Fig Newton-like cookies, but the fresh fruit is really something special. They are mainly in season July through September, with the later crops being especially flavorful. If you can pick up some during this time, I highly suggest you do. And for a real treat, try this recipe for Caramelized Figs with Balsamic Vinegar. You won’t be disappointed!"

Who knew figs and balsamic vinegar would go so good together? I know that you can make savory and sweet dishes with balsamic vinegar, but until now I had only come across savory recipes. I love how the fig pairs with the vinegar, and the sour brings out the sweet and makes it so much better. What a fun idea and great to share with the kids and hubby.
