Slow Cooker Baked Potatoes Recipe

One thing we love about this recipe is that it's perfect for low key entertaining. Baked potatoes are a meal on their own, if you serve them with the right toppings! Make a baked potato bar for your favorite people, complete with shredded cheese, sour cream, broccoli, bacon bits, and maybe even some chili. This is one of the easiest ways to cook for a crowd, and everyone will have so much fun making their own baked potato creation!

  1. Scrub potatoes and allow to dry completely.

  2. Generously rub potatoes with butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper and wrap individually in foil.

  3. Place in large crock-pot and cook on low for up to 8 hours.

Note: Since crock-pot times can vary, you may want to check your potatoes after 6 or 7 hours to see if they are cooked through.

  4. Once potatoes are cooked through, unwrap carefully and enjoy!

Wonder if you can make more than just 6 potatoes in a larger crockpot or how long it would take.

So yummy!

I am a busy college student always looking for easy recipes. My slow cooker is one of my favorite kitchen tools, so I'll have to try this next time I make dinner with my roommates. What a great idea!

This made me laugh. John Kennedy, Jackie O, and Marilyn Monroe. The love triangle. Wow. Not everyone knows this gossip but what happened to Chappaquiddick is a mystery but a few people know the real story. Anyway to the three of them like potatoes. Ok

With so many recipes I cannot find the "save recipe" button! Is it only for certain recipes? I cannot find it on this one.

I think I'm going to love baked potatoes cooked this way. They look super yummy. I love putting something on to cook and then not worrying about it again. You could put this on and go to work. When you come home your meal is ready. I would serve them with some sour cream and crispy bacon.

Wow, this has just got to be THE EASIEST WAY to bake a potato! AND it is really good too. I had never even considered baking potatoes in our slow cooker and I have to say that I will probably never do it any other way again, lol! Do try it, they are really good.

Omigosh this may be my favorite go-to recipe from this day forward. I could eat baked potatoes every day of my life but it's such a pain to have to put them in the oven...and I recently just started trying to experiment in the microwave which I'm not a fan of doing either. Just curious though...Do the potatoes stacked on top of the others cook the same as the ones on the bottom?

We have both agreed that these are probably the best baked potatoes we have ever had. I am fairly novice at cooking and we have just recently purchased our first slow cooker so are still excited at what it is able to do. It probably also helps that the recipe is perfect.

I'm always looking for new ways to use my slow cooker. Who knew you could use it to make perfect baked potatoes?! What a smart little kitchen hack!
