I'm quite sure Martha Washington did not have a food processor, an electric mixer, a refrigerator, or a microwave.

Martha Washington - cherry. Being the wife of the first president, it is only right that her famous candy would be made with cherries. The whole idea of these ingredients together is making my mouth water. This will be the perfect office candy during the holidays or family gatherings.

Martha did not make these little beauties with the directions provided here that's for sure. However, thank you, Martha! This candy recipe sounds divine. I have all the ingredients except for the pecans and I just added them to my list. Yummy!

Now I know why George Washington crossed the Delaware...to get home to Martha Washington's Famous Candy. This candy is so easy to make, or actually , put together since it is "no bake" , and it is full of all my favorite flavors, coconut, pecans, chocolate and a surprise cherry inside. I can't wait to add these to my cookie trays for this years Christmas cookie exchange.

Yum. All my favorites in one candy. I love pecans, coconut, maraschino cherries and chocolate. I can't wait to make this. I would of course have to make some without coconut, because my husband and son don't like it. The chocolate candy melts are they like the candy morsels you get in the baking aisle at the grocery store? Could you also use the dipping chocolate like for banana's and strawberries?
