German Butter Pound Cake
If you're looking for a good old-fashioned German recipe, this may be one of the best. German Butter Pound Cake is a cake recipe from scratch that makes the most moist, delicious pound cake you'll ever eat. A hint of lemon adds a touch of brightness to the cake, and almond and vanilla extract pull it all together. You simply can't go wrong with a recipe like this one that's been passed down from a German grandmother.

I almost clicked away when I saw there was lemon in this recipe, but I am so glad didn't. It is hardly noticeable in the cake, yet adds a touch of bright fresh flavor that helps to cut through the richness of all that butter. It is great to dunk in your coffee, or a glass of milk for the kids. It is a thing to have on hand in your freezer for impromptu desserts like strawberry shortcake with whipped cream, or even in a chocolate trifle.

Oh is is a great tasting German Butter Pound Cake. I too seen it in Taste of Home magazine and made it. My mother-in-law normally buys pound cake and was impressed when she tried this. So now when she wants pound cake this is my go to recipe for her. This one came out a little more heaver then others but the flavor is perfect.. Thank you for sharing this free recipe.
