Meatloaf Magnifico

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces Prego® Chunky Garden Mushroom Supreme Italian Sauce with Baby Portobello
  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Mix 1/2 cup of the sauce, beef, onion, bread crumbs and egg thoroughly. Shape firmly into an 8 x 4-inch loaf in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

  3. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes or until cooked through.

  4. Heat the remaining sauce in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Serve with the meatloaf.

Do you put any cheese in your recipe? I love the name you chose for your meatloaf. It has personality and pizzazz. Do you spice the bread crumbs or do you buy one with Italian seasonings? I like to use the spiced ones, but I still add more to the recipe to give it a bold taste and aroma.

Meatloaf is a favorite of many families, and is always welcome on the dinner table. For a healthier version of this dish, I would use lean ground beef or turkey. Serve this meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans, and you have a complete meal.
