Itty Bitty Meatball Poppers

These Itty Bitty Meatball Poppers make great appetizers for a crowd. They have a pizza-feel, even though they're meatballs. The meatballs are wrapped in pizza dough - homemade or store-bought - by themselves or with a piece of mozzarella cheese. After they're baked, brush the tops with garlic butter and dip in marina sauce. Yum! These bite-sized balls are perfectly portable, so take them anywhere your heart desires. Just make sure to share! The recipe makes 32 poppers, so there will be plenty to pass around.

OH how I can see hundreds of these disappearing at my next party, or when we decide we want to do party food for dinner one weekend. These would go perfect with my beanie weanies and some loaded potato skins. I can see making several batches of these very soon. Thanks so much!

These remind me of garlic knots, a favorite of my family, only with a tasty meatball and cheese surprise inside. I normally use the Cooked Perfect ounce meatballs, but I may pick up a bag of the Casa di Bertacchi brand the next time I'm at Sam's. Has anyone tried making these with a larger meatball, say the 1 ounce size? Just before the end of the baking process, I'd do the garlic butter brushing, and definitely sprinkle some shredded mozzarella on top of them. Yum!

These are cute. It's like eating a baby meatball sandwich. You could even make your own meatballs instead of buying them. Mozzarella cheese is a must, in my opinion. It adds to the whole meatball sandwich experience. It is great party food. The garlic butter brushed on the outside is very yummy.

I cannot pull up the recipe--just the post and picture. Please add the recipe here in addition to the link.
