New Jersey Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich

To think such an easy sandwich recipe as this could be so irresistible. You won't be able to stop yourself once you sink your teeth into this New Jersey Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich. The ham, egg and cheese combo is the perfect flavor combination.

Ingredients

  • 1 hard roll
  • 2 eggs, fried
  • 2 slices American Cheese
  • 2 slices Taylor Ham

Instructions

  1. On a flat grill pan, heat Taylor Ham over medium heat until lightly browned on both sides.
     
  2. Remove from pan and keep on the side.
     
  3. Fry the eggs, breaking the yolk. Add cheese to the top of the eggs so that it melts.
     
  4. Place the eggs on the roll and top with cooked Taylor Ham. Serve and enjoy.

I make these all the time, and they're a great quick meal. I often add some sliced tomato to the sandwich and I'll occasionally add some mustard to the roll, usually stone ground mustard or Dijon mustard since those are the two that seem to go the best with this. I like having these for breakfast. And why exactly are these referred to as "New Jersey" sandwiches?

The Taylor Ham Silly!

I made this for my kids and they like it so much. It's easy to prepare and cost me less time. Sometimes I add lettuce to make the sandwich healthier. Adding tomatoes sounds good too!

I believe they're talking about pork roll.
