Baked Spaghetti Casserole
This easy spaghetti casserole will have everyone running to the table.
Spaghetti casserole is one of those recipes that will bring everyone to the table. Kids and adults alike will enjoy this gooey, cheesy pasta bake. There's something about the combination of tangy marinara sauce, creamy cheese filling, and plenty of pasta that makes this dish a total win.
Another thing we love about this dish is that it's great as a make ahead meal or as leftovers. You can easily assemble this spaghetti casserole and freeze it. Then you can have a delicious meal with no prep on another busy weeknight.
- 1 pound angel hair pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup whipped cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups spinach
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Baked Spaghetti Recipe
Recipes like this remind us of busy weeknights at home. Mom or Dad would make a dinner like this while everyone arrived home from work or school. While the food cooked we could talk about the day, finish up homework, give the pets their dinner, or just relax a bit. And when dinner came out of the oven, it didn't take any convincing to get everyone to the table.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil a 9×13 baking dish or coat with nonstick spray.
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain well.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add ground beef and garlic and cook until beef has browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Drain excess fat.
Stir in tomato sauce, basil, oregano, parsley, spinach, and red pepper flakes; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
In a small bowl, whisk together cream cheese and sour cream.
Add pasta to the prepared baking dish and layer with cream cheese and beef mixture; sprinkle with cheeses.
Place into oven and bake until bubbly and heated through, about 15-20 minutes.
Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.
