Better Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients

  • 1 strip orange peel
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 jigger warm golden rum
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 cinnamon stick piece
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • boiling cider

Instructions

  1. Place first 2 ingredients plus 1/2 jigger rum in a silver or pewter mug.
     
  2. Ignite rum and let it burn out.
     
  3. Add another jigger rum, butter and spices.
     
  4. Fill mug with boiling cider and stir to serve.
