Chocolate Chip Spritz


  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 1/4 cup coarsely grated semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 1/4 cups flour


Makes: 3 dozen. Heat oven to 400F. In lg. bowl combine sugar, butter, egg, salt, and vanilla. Beat at med. speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture is light and fluffy, 2-3 min. Add flour and coarsely grated semi-sweet chocolate. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 2 to 3 min. If dough is too soft, cover and refrigerate until firm enough to form cookies, 30-45 min. Place dough in cookie press. Form desired shapes 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 6-8 min. or until edges are lightly browned.
