Our pineapple upside down dump cake couldn't be easier to make.

Sink your fork into a bowl filled with this delicious pineapple dump cake. You will love the sweet yellow cake, mingled with layers of gooey pineapple and cherry filling. Each bite tastes like a little piece of heaven, especially when you serve it warm from the slow cooker (yes, slow cooker!). Top with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and you'll find yourself in paradise in no time at all.

Why did we choose to make this pineapple dump cake in the slow cooker? First of all, we wanted to make an easy dump cake recipe that required very little work. This recipe will allow you to sit back and relax while your cake cooks and your home fills with delicious smells.

Second of all, the slow cooker is a fantastic way to make a cake that is rich, gooey, and delicious! Over the longer cooking time, the sweet flavors of pineapple and cherries seep into the yellow cake for a pineapple upside down dump cake flavor that can't be beat.

You're not going to find a pineapple cake recipe that's easier (or more delicious) than this one! Give it a try this week!

What if my family hates ______ ingredient in this dump cake?

We know what it's like to have picky eaters in the house (or to be one yourself!). Sometimes a recipe looks amazing, but you know that one of the ingredients is going to be a "no go" for someone. Luckily, with dump cake recipes this is a super easy fix.

Feel free to omit the cherries or caramel sauce in this recipe and add a few other ingredients instead. Crazy for coconut? Add 3/4 cup to the batter and sprinkle a little on top to finish. Chopped pecans or walnuts would also be a great topping for this dessert if you are in the mood for a little crunch.

One of the best things about dump cake recipes is that you can adapt them in many ways to suit your taste, and they're still totally delicious.

We don't recommend adding ingredients that are very wet, or subtracting wet ingredients (like the crushed pineapple) frome this pineapple dump cake recipe. If you adjust the liquid too much, then the cake may not bake up properly. Don't skip the butter, sugar, or cake mix ingredients either!
