this is what I did- 1- mixed yeast, sugar and warm water let sit for a few minutes 2- mix HOT water and lard- (set aside until it cools to room temp or very warm but not hot (hot will kill the yeast) 3- mix cold water, eggs, 3/4C sugar and 7 cups of flour--then add the yeast mixture 4- once cooled add the water/lard mix- stir and work in the last cup of flour. 5-roll into balls and place in your baking pans. Don't overcrowd. It makes a lot, so you might want to cover some and put them in the fridge for later. For those you want to cook now just cover them with a clean dishcloth and let them rise in a warm spot for 30-45 minutes or untill doubled in size then bake.

Some directions would be nice with this recipe for those of us who don't normally do bread. Are we supposed to dissolve the yeast in the warm water? Certainly we don't just dump and mix? THAT would be TOO easy!

Most always when you are using dry yeast you have to dissolove it in warm water. That distributes it more evenly through the dough.
