Sweet Corn Bread

If you're looking for an easy, basic sweet cornbread recipe, you've found it! This sweet cornbread recipe is a great one to bake with the kids, and the whole family will enjoy the fruits of your labors.

Serves: 9

Cooking Time: 30 min

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup sour cream (can use non-fat)
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
     
  2. In a bowl, combine flours, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
     
  3. In another bowl, combine egg, sour cream, milk, and butter. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
     
  4. Pour into greased 8-inch square baking pan.
     
  5. Bake at 400F degrees for 20 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm.
