Memphis Style Coleslaw

If you're looking for great recipes for cabbage coleslaw, you've found the best! This Memphis-style coleslaw recipe has just the right mix of sweet and spicy, and will bring awesome flavor to your next picnic or party.

Serves: 6

Ingredients
  • 1 head medium green cabbage, tough leaves removed, cored, and shredded
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled and grated
  • 1 green bell pepper, cored, seeded, and finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons onion, grated
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dijon-style mustard
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons celery seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, place the vegetables. Set aside.
     
  2. In another bowl, combine the remaining ingredients.
     
  3. Add to the vegetables and toss well.
     
  4. Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours before serving for the flavors to meld.
