Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole

Cooking MethodCasserole

Ingredients

32 ounces package tater tots
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1 pound ground beef, seasoned, browned, drained, and rinsed
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Brown ground beef with onion.
Pour into 9 x 13 casserole dish, coated with cooking spray.
Top with celery and Worcestershire sauce.
Mix together cream of mushroom and cream of celery soups.
Spread over beef and celery layers.
Top with layer of cheese.
Place Tater Tots on top in tight rows to cover completely.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 1 hour.

The brand of tater tots make a big difference in how good these recipes come out. DON'T USE a cheap brand, it will taste horrible.

I was wondering when you use the cream of mushroom and celery soup, do you have to mix that with a can of water like it says on the can? Or do you just put it on there in thick form?

It goes on in thick form straight from the can. The instructions on the can are for making soup.

This is one of my favorite casseroles. I use green beans instead of celery and do not use Worchestershire sauce. I also put the Tater Tots on top of the soups and bake without the cheese, adding that to the top 10 minutes before it's done. The cheese will melt into the tots and also brown a little bit. YUM!

This is the way I make it too except I do use the worcestershire sauce. I use whatever cream soup I have on hand. They all work.

I just wanted to say that I had trouble with this site for months. The recipes I clicked on would not come through. I tried to contact you and that didnt work either. Nothing I tried worked. There was no way of getting thru to you. I am glad it is working now. I really like it.
