After watching the video I think it's safe to assume the name comes from the wild rice/aka dog nails? Either way, I just love that this soup is made chunky and creamy at the same time...the best of both worlds! I've never cooked with sherry before...is there too much of a difference if I leave it out?

I was really intrigued by the name of this soup! After reading the recipe, I'm still not sure where the name comes from, but this soup looks delicious! I love the addition of wild rice! I'm wondering if I could leave out the evaporated milk to make it dairy free, but I'm not sure if it would affect the consistency? Very helpful to have a video too!

I am not sure where the name comes from, but it is basically chicken and wild rice soup with mushrooms. I don't watch a lot of recipe videos, but it helps with this recipe. The ingredients don't specify cooked or raw chicken. The video shows cooked. Using cooked chicken speeds up the meal. I would chop up the mushrooms more though.
