Stir 'n' Bake Banana Bread


Stir 'n' Bake Banana Bread is as easy as throwing all the ingredients together, stirring them and baking them. You're going to love this easy banana bread recipe.

Cooking Time: 45 min

  • 1/2 cup solid shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 3 bananas mashed
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine all ingredients in bowl and stir.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.

Very good - a little too sweet maybe try a little less sugar next time. I would bake @ 325 for 55 - 60 minutes b/c it's so dense, it didn't get done in the middle @ the recommended time & temp. I added the walnuts yum! I sprayed my loaf pan & mixed everything IN the pan w/ a pastry cutter! I had to scrape a little flour out of the corners to mix, but talk about easy - not even a bowl to clean!

Hello, My suggestion is to turn the oven off and let the bread settle in the oven for about 15-20 minutes before removing. I'm of course doing my best educated guess on this. Since many of our recipes are reader submitted, there's no way to know for sure. Unless another reader has a suggestion outside of mine? Hope that helps, thanks so much for your feedback!

The banana bread is great, BUT! How do I stop the top from falling in,after taking out of oven and cooling it. Help. Fay.
