Bbq Sauce

Brown Sugar

Create a big batch of BBQ sauce for canning or jarring with this recipe. Homemade BBQ sauce is a quick and easy way to flavor any kind of meat.

Cooking Time: 30 min

Ingredients
  • 12 cups ketchup
  • 4 cups vinegar
  • 1 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 8 cups brown sugar
  • 8 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 5 tablespoons chilli powder
  • 3 tablespoons ground ginger
  • 10 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 10 habanaro peppers (finely chopped)
  • 10 cherry peppers (finely chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons dehydrated onion bits
Instructions
  1. Bring ketchup vinegar and Worcestershire sauce to a boil.
     
  2. Lower heat to a simmer, add the rest of the ingredients.
     
  3. Simmer for 30 minutes stirring frequently.
     
  4. After filling jars, process immediately in a hot water bath using a canning kettle for approximately 20 minutes.

Makes approximately 12 pints.
