Chocolate Macadamia Cookies with White Chocolate Chunks

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces white chocolate bar cut in chunks or vanilla chips
  • 3 1/2 ounces macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, sugar and butter; beat until light and fluffy.
     
  2. Add almond extract and egg; blend well.
     
  3. Add flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in white chocolate and nuts.
     
  4. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
     
  5. Bake for 8-12 min. or until set. Cool 1 min.; remove from cookie sheets.
