Shepherd's Hamburger Pie

search

There are a lot of shortcuts to shepherd's pie casserole recipes, where the recipe calls for condensed soups. But we found Shepherd's Hamburger Pie that uses fresh ingredients and the taste is one hundred times better. With ground beef, onion, zucchini, garlic and mashed potatoes, it may not have all of the ingredients of your classic shepherd's pie recipe, but it sure does have all of the flavor. Baked until it is a lovely golden brown, with melted cheese on top, it is incredibly tasty!

I often order shepherd's pie at a restaurant. This recipe inspires me to try and make one. Not only does this sound easy to prepare, but the entire family will be able to enjoy this savory main dish as well. For a healthier version of this recipe, I would use lean ground beef, low sodium Worcestershire sauce, low sodium beef broth, and reduced fat cheddar cheese.

Who does not love Shepherds Pie? It is such a wonderfully comforting meal and it is not at all complicated to make which is always good, lol! One thing I ALWAYS do with Shepherds Pie (and bolognaise sauce) is to cook the mince in all the flavorings the day before. I just feel it allows all the flavors to meld and get really delicious, lol! We used cauliflower mash instead of potato and it was a very good meal indeed!

This is the best shepherd's pie recipe I've tried. I made two at the same time and froze the other one for later this month. I did use a bag of frozen vegetables, though, and a bag of real mashed potatoes from the grocery store.

This is awesome to hear! Glad you enjoyed this recipe! Thanks for the photo. Happy cooking! -Editor, Recipelion.com

This website is terrible! Can't get to the recipes even after I provided email address, etc. Only advertisements. Will not come back to this site.

There was no recipe when I clicked 'download' - only a Polo advertisement !! Would love to have the recipe (not a video)

I saved this recipe to my recipe box, then printed from the link there with no problem. Perhaps it's some settings that you have that are unique to your computer and software environment.Youcould try copying and pasting the recipe into a WOrd doc.
