I honestly just saw this 5 Minute Candied Bread recipe. I was looking for a snack so I made it, and I am enjoying the results as I am writing this review. It is truly one of the simplest, tasty sweet treat recipes I have ever made. The only addition I made was to add a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top...Yum.

When I read this recipe, I kept thinking that this really was close to cinnamon toast. My wife makes this for herself fairly often, and she follows a very similar recipe. I'd be interested in trying this with some of the multi-grain breads available since I think that would be quite tasty. My wife uses regular white bread when she makes it, but the idea of English muffins sounds interesting, too.

I am amazed at how simple this recipe is and how good it looks. It reminds me of the cinnamon sugar toast my mom used to make for me when I was a child. I think I'll try the recipe as is, then modify it to make it with cinnamon sugar. It will be great with a cold glass of milk.

Did not like this. way too sweet.
