Addictive Apple Pie Cake

Take the wonderful flavors of a homemade apple pie and put them in cake form and you have yourself one of the most splendid dessert recipes of all time. With this recipe for Addictive Apple Pie Cake you can get two awesome dessert taste in one! The apple pie filling in the batter will remind you of Mom's traditional apple pie but the fluffy cake texture will make you think of your favorite coffee cake recipe. It's the best of both worlds with this easy apple dessert recipe!

Cooking Time: 1 hr

Ingredients
  • 1 (20-ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground clove
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Generously grease and lightly flour a 9 or 10-inch fluted tube pan.
     
  2. In a large mixer bowl at low speed beat pie filling, flour, sugar, oil, eggs, baking soda, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves for 30 seconds.
     
  3. At medium speed beat for 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
     
  4. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into pan.
     
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
     
  6. Cool cake upright in pan on a wire rack for 2 hours or until completely cooled.
     
  7. Remove from pan and serve.
