Velveeta Breakfast Casserole

Who doesn't love Velveeta cheese, and what better way to eat it than for breakfast? This casserole have everything you love about breakfast eggs, cheese, hash browns and sausage!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 pound Velveeta cheese, cubed
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9x13" dish. Brown sausage and drain excess fat.
     
  2. Beat eggs. Add milk, salt and pepper.
     
  3. In prepared dish, layer ingredients. Begin with half of hash browns, then half of sausage, then half of eggs.
     
  4. Add half of cheese. Repeat layers with remaining half of ingredients. Bake for 45 minutes.

Is the bake time 25 min or 45 min? At the top it says cook time: 25 min, but then the last part says bake for 45 min.

I THINK THIS IS A GREAT STARTER RECIPE. ADD YOUR SPICES AND HERBS AND IT NOW YOUR OWN RECIPE UR FAMILY WILL LOVE U FOR IT!

Try the little 1lb "Mexican Mild" Velveeta for more of a kick. It's awesome!!

I added a small onion to the cooking sausage. I also think that next time I'll add a few dashes of hot sauce to the egg mixture for a little kick.

I wonder if you can use turkey sausage in this recipe ???

I used the o'brien style hashbrowns and it was great for brunch on Sunday, and my girl friend loved it all so.

I am not a breakfast person but this recipe was actually pretty good. I cooked the sausage the day before and cubed the cheese the day before. I used the hashbrowns with nothing in them but I think the next time I make this I will use the o'brien style hashbrowns for a little extra flavor. My husband liked it too. I will make this again.
