Best Retro Salisbury Steak

Tasty flavors and an easy preparation are a winning combination in this Best Retro Salisbury Steak recipe. This is just the kind of dish your mom would have served for a weeknight supper way back when. It's wholesome, hearty and so yummy. Make this easy beef dinner for your own family this week and take them on a culinary trip back in time. It's fun to revisit the dishes of our past and this Salisbury steak recipe is one of our favorites.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound chopped chuck
  • 1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2/3 cup hot water
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
Instructions
  1. With the chopped chuck, form and pan-fry four patties. Remove patties from pan.
     
  2. Saute mushrooms in butter for about 5 minutes. Remove mushrooms from pan.
     
  3. Blend in flour and curry powder. Add boiled water with dissolved bouillon cubes, stirring until smooth and thick.
     
  4. Add mushrooms to sauce. Pour over cooked patties and serve.
