Moist Vanilla Mug Cake

This vanilla mug cake recipe is truly an anytime dessert.

Moist Vanilla Mug Cake

This little vanilla mug cake proves that sometimes less is more.

It’s so easy to make a personal serving of this delicious, fluffy vanilla cake in almost no time. Plus, because you can make this vanilla mug cake without vanilla bean paste, you probably already have all of the ingredients waiting in your pantry.

Simply combine the ingredients in a mug and pop in the microwave. When the cake is done, take it out and garnish with whatever delicious toppings you like best. It’s just that easy!

This is a mug cake recipe that you can make without an egg, meaning it is ideal for late night munchies and dorm room treats.

From the Chef: Vanilla cakes provide the ideal palate to test out other flavors. I garnished this with whipped topping and berries, but with a vanilla base, you could add hot fudge and candy bars, caramel sauce and nuts, or even Nutella and graham crackers. Make this treat your own!

Why Make a Mug Cake?

You might be wondering why you should make a mug cake, instead of just baking cupcakes or cookies.

Does this mean you're lazy?

Not at all!

Mug cakes remind you to take a little time for yourself.

Curl up on the couch and practice self care with a mug of warm, gooey vanilla mug cake. Fuzzy socks are optional, but a blanket isn't. If you can find a fireplace and a cat to curl up on your feet, even better.

Mug cakes are also a great way to show someone that you care.

Whip one up for a friend who's having a rough day, a spouse who's been particularly amazing (or particularly annoying... they probably just need some R&R), or a kiddo who deserves a treat. Everyone loves a cake that's made especially for them. And they tend to be fond of the person who made it for them, too.
