Parker House Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pint milk
  • 4 tb shortening
  • 2 tb sugar
  • 2 1/2 pints flour
  • 1 ts salt
  • 1 yeast cake

Instructions

Yield: 6 servings. Scald milk, cool. Dissolve yeast cake in lukewarm milk, add sugar, 1 1/2 pts. flour, and shortening. Rise in warm place untill light. Add salt and rest of flour. Knead well. Place in greased bowl, rise until double in bulk. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Brush with melted butter, fold over. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes.

Can these rolls be made 2 week ahead & frozen? if yes do I freeze unbaked or baked?
