Addie's Green Bean Casserole is one that you can keep close all through the fall and into the winter. This easy side dish recipe is a Thanksgiving staple, but it tastes delicious paired with a regular weeknight meal too! This green bean casserole is a total classic, so you know everyone will be going back for seconds. Make this recipe throughout the holidays and anytime you're craving something comforting and familiar. This creamy green bean casserole is made with sour cream, plenty of bacon for some added crunch, and a nice dose of parmesan cheese sprinkled on top because what other way is there?

Ingredients

  • 6 cup blanched frenched green beans
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 1/2 pint Greek yogurt
  • 8 strips bacon, fried crisp and broken into pieces
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup Parmesan, grated
  • 1 cup Cojita cheese
  • 4 ounce sliced mushrooms, browned in a bit of olive oil
  • 3 green onions or scallions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Mix sour cream, Greek yogurt, Worcestershire sauce, 1½ cups of the Parmesan cheese, Cojita cheese, pepper flakes, and pepper.
     

  3. Stir in bacon, mushrooms, and green onions.

  4. Add green beans and mix thoroughly.

  5. Pour green beans in a buttered, 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.

  6. Top with the rest of the Parmesan and Cojita cheeses.

  7. Bake until top begins to brown, 20 to 30 minutes.

  8. If the green beans are bubbling, but the cheese isn't browning, turn it on broil for just a second. Let set for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
