Wheat Germ and Oatmeal Cookies


  • 3/4 c vegetable oil
  • 1 c cane or sorghum molasses
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsps vanilla
  • 1 c raisins or 1/2 c. each chopped nuts and raisins
  • 1 1/2 c wheat germ
  • 2 c rolled oats
  • 3/4 c whole wheat flour, soy flour, or rice flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c dry milk powder


Combine the first seven ingredients in a large bowl. Sift in the remaining ingredients. Stir until well blended. Drop batter from a teaspoon (or larger spoon) onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes.
