French Fried Onion Rings

Ingredients

  • 1 large spanish onion, peeled, sliced 1/4" thick
  • Vegetable oil for deep fat frying
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2/3 cup milk

Instructions

Heat fat to 375 degrees. Separate onion slices into rings. Mix batter. Dip onion rings 4 or 5 at a time into batter draining off excess. Then drop into hot fat. Fry 1 minute until brown. Remove to paper towel lined baking sheet and set in 250 degree oven while you fry the rest.
