Perfect Puppy Chow is one of those recipes you'll try and wonder how you lived without it. This easy, no-bake snack mix has everything you could ever want -- including peanut butter, chocolate, sweet cereal bits, peanuts, and powdered sugar. All you do is combine most of the ingredients in a bowl and microwave them so you've got a chocolatey and gooey mixture to coat your cereal in. To finish, just pour powdered sugar all over everything. This snack is sure to be a hit with kids, but what adult doesn't have a sweet tooth? Enjoy this sweet recipe during the holidays or any party that requires munchies!

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 12 ounces Golden Grahams cereal
  • 1 1/2 cup M&Ms
  • 3 cups peanuts, roasted and satlted
  • 1 box powdered sugar

  1. In a large glass bowl melt chocolate chips, butter, and peanut butter in the microwave, stirring often until completely melted and smooth.

  2. Quickly stir in the cereal and coat with melted mixture completely. Add in M&Ms and peanuts.

  3. Stir in powdered sugar to coat mixture very generously.

It's hard to beat puppy chow! It's so gooooood!

I had to look up a recipe that was called Puppy Chow! I wondered what that was. I'm definitely going to try some of this. It is quite a nice idea to whip up when you are looking for something sweet to snack on and may be a nice idea to have for movie night!

This recipe is an all-time favourite of my kids! We've seen it called "Monkey Munch" too! This is an easy to make treat with a few simple ingredients that you are sure to have on hand. My kids love helping me make it too! This is great for a treat in the lunchbox or an after-school snack. This is a real winner - I need to make some again soon! When I make it I substitute Shreddies cereal since we don't have Golden Grahams in Canada - just as tasty!

So, confession. I 've never made any version of puppy chow. It looks really good but I hardly ever think to make it. I love the name Monkey Munch. LOL-would have made the perfect treat for my nephew, whom I called "my little monkey" when he was little. He's sixteen now, but I think I'll give this recipe a try and give it to him as Monkey Munch the next time I see him. hahahahathanks for the idea!
