Ok. So I was reading over the directions for this dish, "Slap Ya Mama Seasoning", really. First time I have ever heard of this one but just for that, I must try this dish. My husband has never liked my steamed cabbage before. I wonder how this recipe will go over as he loves spicy food.

Wow! This recipe calls for a pound of bacon. I love bacon but I do not think I will use a whole pound to prepare this recipe. There are a LOT of ingredients in this recipe to boot. Sounds interesting, but not sure if I will try this recipe.

I agree that cabbage and bacon are a lovely combination of flavors so I'll definitely be trying this recipe soon. I like the name 'Smothered Cabbage' as well. Usually, I add a small amount of finely chopped fresh ginger to vegetable stir-fries like this one and it turns out quite well.

This cabbage recipe is to die for! It's super delicious and very filling! We'll def be making it again.

This recipe sounds so delicious! My family eats alot of cabbage during the winter months, but I've never prepared it this way! The added spice (I'm guessing Slap Ya Mama is a type of creole or cajun spice mixture?) sounds really good, and the suggestion of serving this with some black eyed peas or other beans would make a great weeknight winter meal! Sounds tasty!

We make corned beef and cabbage every year after the St. Patrick's Day parade that we attend. This sounds like a really good new taste on an old favorite, especially with the apple cider vinegar. I'm also very intrigued to try some hot sauce on this as recommended by the chef!

My goodness, this sounds like a spiced-up kind of wonderful German dish! Cabbage. Bacon. What more could one ask. I've not heard of the Sap Ya Mama Seasoning in my part of the woods, but I'd add a bit of caraway to this and together with the vinegar, it would make this taste just like a traditional German dish. Hot sauce? Well, I've never added that ... but, there's always a first time. What do you think?

.Oh MY that sounds so good I'll try that one.The cheese sauce with Gouda and greek yoguart and cream .What more can we ask for .can't wait to try it .
