Easy Buttermilk Biscuits

Serves: 18

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup club soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups Bisquick biscuit mix
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Combine butter, sugar, egg, buttermilk, club soda, salt and Bisquick. Knead the dough by hand until smooth.
  3. Flour your hands. Pat the dough flat to 3/4-inch thick on waxed paper. Cut out biscuits.
  4. Bake for 12 minutes or unitl golden brown.

Is this enough liquid for 5 cups of Bisquick?

Grumpy should try the recipe before commenting on it. I have been a great cook for over 50 years, YES, I am a Grandmother, ... and most of the time bisquick is a good product as well as a time-saver! Shame on you...

Sorry, BUT any recipe that calls for bisquick is neither VINTAGE nor CLASSIC. I suggest you try to find some really OLD cook books ( from the days when they used REAL food ) and try again.

4 add button to right of stars under receipe name. 4 smaller amount cut ingreds in half mix all liquids use what is needed for good dough OR make the whole mess bake and have bisquits snack wiches, pbj on hiking trip, cheese, tuna salad or use as sopper. OR after cutting bisquits in size desired rollpat remaing dough flat, smear bit of butter, cinnsugar,or cheese chunks, whatever, roll up bake whole n slice whenever or slice w, dental floss to make little rolls 4 later, geeze, good luck be creative. i like these walmost cooked sauage,oniongarlic, on flat dough,roll, cut bake in dutch oven at camp fire, while making reg or milk gravy to pour over, some slice tamaters or salad, ummmmbecome an food artist
