Ingredients

  • 2 pounds hamburger
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Brown and crumble the hamburger in a deep fry pan.
     
  2. Add the remaining ingredients. Mix and let simmer for 30 minutes to merge the flavors.
     
  3. Serve on toasted buns.

I would add a finely chopped onion. In fact, the best sloppy joe is just ground beef, onion and ketchup, simmered for a full hour.
