Old-Fashioned Seven Layer Salad

This classic 7-layer salad recipe is an old classic at potlucks, picnics and barbecues. Old-Fashioned Seven Layer Salad is a delicious green salad layered with bacon, hard-boiled eggs, and more! The dressing is a mayonnaise dressing that adds great flavor and creaminess to the salad. Plus, it makes enough to feed a crowd so it's the perfect dish to bring to parties. Simply layer the ingredients in a big bowl and serve!

Ingredients

  • 2 heads iceburg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 pound bacon, fried and crumbled
  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups grated cheddar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, layer the above ingredients in the order indicated.

  2. Mix together the mayonnaise and sugar, then drop over the top of the salad in dollops. Spread the dressing out so it reaches the edges of the bowl.

  3. Refrigerate until serving time, up to 24 hours.
