Fettuccine Alfredo is a classic Italian dish and a popular restaurant offering. Now you can recreate the Olive Garden's famous version with this restaurant copycat recipe.

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 ounces fettuccine, cooked and drained
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. In a saucepan combine butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese. Simmer this until all is melted, and mixed well. Add the Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Simmer this for 15 - 20 minutes over low heat.
  2. Toss pasta lightly with sauce, coating well. Leftovers freeze well.

I was living in South Carolina the first time I went to an Olive Garden. It turned out to be one of my favorite restaurants when I was in the mood for Italian. I never attempted to make Fettuccine Alfredo from scratch, but this recipe seems easy enough. This will be one of those special occasion meals as it is not the most healthy option, but it sure sounds good.

I just ate Fettuccine Alfredo from Olive Garden on Friday and I was thinking I wish I could make this at home! I've tried many recipes but they are never as think and creamy as restaurant alfredo sauce. I think the secret ingredient must be the cream cheese! This meal is a real treat since it is SO rich, but I look forward to being able to make this at home for my family! (Now I need a recipe for the garlic breadsticks!!!)

Remember to partake of everything in moderation. Yes all of these tasty ingredients are not the most healthy but a serving size won't hurt. How many of use really serve our plates in proper portion sizes? Not me. This is a recipe to make when you know a lot of family will be there to help you consume it.

I'm on a cardiac diet. If I eat this I'll probably die.

awesome everyone love it! so creamy!

Before you try this recipe, make sure you have your cardiologist on speed dial!

Lubbock this!!! sILVER bELLE

Hi sherryln, So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks.

Awesome!!! I agree with everyone eles! Easy and the best Alfredo sause reciep ever! I made a pig out of myself and had 2 plates!

absolutely delicious! I used fresh garlic instead because my family all love fresh garlic I chopped in my little oscar food processor otherwise, I didn't change anything.Loved the cream cheese thing. It was better than anywhere I ever had it. Thanks for this excellent recipe.

Awesome recipe and it truly tasted the very the same as Olive garden as stated. YUMMM!!!

Thanks!! I actually ended up using the half & half, cuz the fat is cit in half that way. But then I added a bit more cheese to make it thicker, and also used 3 cloves of fresh garlic instead of powder. It was so delicious! It truly tasted just like Olive Garden's recipe and I would definitly make this recipe again. YUM!!!!.

@Chef 9158078: You can certainly use lighter cream in this recipe. However the sauce might not be as thick and rich as it would be if you were to use heavy cream. Regardless, I think light cream would make a great substitute if you are trying to save calories in this recipe! -- RecipeLion Editor

Fighting calories here, but LOVE OG's fetuccine! Can you use lighter cream in this recipe and still have it turn out well?

@phillymom: Thanks for the feedback! We're glad you liked the recipe. -- RecipeLion Editors

OMG!! I have made this recipe and it is amazing. It it the best alfredo I ever had. It is quick and easy. Even my picky eater can't get enough. It is very rich and you know the calorie contact is astronomical but every once and a while you have to splurge--and this is worth it.

looks simple to make. and, i've been paying to eat out. home cooked meals are here again....lol
