Hollandse Honing Brood
Ingredients
- 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsps cinnamon
- 1/3 tsp cloves
- 1/3 tsp nutmeg
- 1/3 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg, well-beaten
- 1/3 cup honey
Instructions
Mix all dry ingredients together. Add the buttermilk, egg, and honey. Blend well. Note: For a moist loaf, reduce flour by 1/4 cup and add a little more honey or buttermilk. Pour mixture into an oiled 9x5x3" loaf pan and bake at 350F for 50-60 minutes.
